First of all, let me reassure you that you were a planned baby, no accidents, no oops, more like an aha moment for us. We got married 5 years ago in my hometown, Culiacan, Mexico, on a scorching summer day. We had a lovely Catholic ceremony at a church with air conditioning (thank God for that!), and we proceed to party the night away until 4 am. Your father and I have been together since September 30, 2006, right now, which almost equals 8 years together. We love each other (some days more than others, but that is understandable). We are thrilled to become parents, and we had some practice with our little furry son, Ewok.
Both of us are children of divorce. Although the circumstances for both of our parents' divorces were different, we both agreed that it was a painful time in our lives and wouldn't wish it upon anybody. Because of our personal history, we take this commitment very seriously. We enter our marriage a little more aware than other couples with the notion that a good marriage takes a lot of work and communication. So far, I think we have done an excellent job at it; we listen to each other, support each other, are a team, and love each other. We put each other above anybody else in the world.
How I know your father loves me:
- He buys me Gatorade at 4 am from the 7 Eleven while I am puking like crazy, so I don't get dehydrated.
- He gets me flowers, cupcakes, and other things I like as a reminder of his love. Attention; these are not anniversary, birthday, or Valentine's day gifts.
- He painted the walls with no help to have the color that I wanted for our living room and your bedroom.
- He took me to Disneyland on our first anniversary.
- He got me Froot Loops (my favorite cereal) and a gallon of milk for our first month of dating.
- He massages my back when I asked him to.
- He brings me breakfast in bed every so often.
- He is friends with my friends (even the ones he doesn't really like).
- He helps me out with the grocery bags; actually, he carries almost everything.
- He speaks to me with a soft tone and jokes with me constantly.
- He talks about me with everybody, including co-workers, store clerks, radio listeners (your father works at a radio station), and I keep having awkward conversations with total strangers that claim to know me thru him.
- He has a lot of patience and endures my princess temper tantrums.
- He cuddles with me.
- He cooks, helps me with the dishes, takes out the trash, and does other housework duties.
- And the most obvious one; he tells me he loves me every day.
You can ask him how he knows I love him too, that will be a nice exercise for him.
With love,
Your mom.

I think if is very refreshing to read someone's thoughts in such a sincere expression. This entry is very heart-felt and lovely.
